Hawaa Initiative

A Women’s Empowerment and Skill development Initiative, aimed to strengthen the role of women in society by combining capacity-building with income-generating opportunities.

Through vocational training in tailoring and embroidery, alongside workshops for creative expression, the program equips women with both practical skills and sustainable livelihood pathways. The initiative also offers psychosocial support and awareness sessions, helping women enhance their resilience, protect their rights, and expand their economic independence.

Women participate in vocational training focused on tailoring, embroidery, and design. By the end of each cycle, at least 70% of participants are able to produce high-quality, market-ready products. Training is complemented by capacity-building workshops on financial literacy, employability, teamwork, and time management.

In this phase, participants transition from training to income creation. This includes opportunities to display and sell their work at community exhibitions, connections with local cooperatives, and guidance on launching micro-enterprises. Within the first year, participants collectively produced over 1,000 hand-crafted items, with 40% sold through community markets, generating direct income.

To ensure holistic empowerment, the program integrates group counselling sessions, peer-support circles, and workshops on women’s rights. These create safe spaces where participants build confidence, resilience, and awareness of their legal and social protections. Post-program surveys target at least 80% of women reporting stronger self-confidence and improved wellbeing.
